BIM

About our service

Since its formation in 2013, Bimfra has always focused on being at the forefront of what is technologically and digitally possible in both underground and above-ground data modelling, analysis and display. Our strategy is to provide value added data solutions at all stages of the project lifecycle. We have many years of successful experience in BIM data generation, underground and above-ground utility modelling, point cloud data evaluation and GIS database solutions.

Recent practice has demonstrated that BIM (Building Information Management) is no longer a model but a whole process. For a BIM project to be successful, and the energy and expenses to be paid off, it is crucial that all the participants involved are familiar with the project’s BIM strategy. Processes, methods, and human resources are critical for success.

We offer  complete solutions to digital challenges in infrastructure and construction developments to our customers all over the world. We are proud to be one of a few companies in Hungary to be ISO19650 certified. Our leadership experience includes professional collaboration with our partners, use of efficient platforms such as Autodesk BIM360 Docs, detailed planning, risk assessment to maximise successful implementation of a project.

BIM consultancy

Incorporating and adapting BIM processes to an existing session is not an easy task, and its implementation requires careful attention and experience. One of the main components of BIM consulting is the introduction of the methods, documentation and equipment requirements related to information management, and presentation of new solutions.

Effective application and support of BIM processes are critically important for our company. To offer best practice, this year our company obtained ISO19650 BIM certification accredited by the British Standard Institution (BSI) in the UK. Our BIM certified manager Attila Földi, together with a team of experienced BIM experts ensure the highest industry standards in implementing BIM to our customers.

Consultancy can be divided into two main parts:
• Consultations, feedback, participation in the development of appropriate processes and environment (on-demand, in person or online)
• Preparation (documents, regulations, job descriptions, templates)
The terms of reference, required documents and specific objectives are determined together with the customer.

Building modelling

Building modelling

Building modelling is used to digitally create the facilities in our environment. The models are created with a high level of graphic elaboration tailored to the customer's needs. We offer a range of models: from simple 3D modelling to BIM-compatible ones.

Using AutoCAD, Revit or MicroStation software, we create 3D facility or building models from the surveyed point cloud data or the obtained 2D architectural drawings. The building model enables architects, engineers, real estate developers, contractors, manufacturers, and other construction professionals to design and build specific buildings. With state-of-the-art technology, Bimfra has effectively delivered complex modelling projects to clients around the world. Our modelling team creates complex 3D models or “digital twins” of physical objects for its clients in .RVT, .IFC .DGN format.

Engineering modelling

Owing to the coordinated information provided by the intelligent model, MEP building systems can be designed with higher precision and greater consistency of architectural and structural components. As a part of our service, we create models of existing buildings to suit the needs of our clients.

Building systems can be transformed from 2D models for MEP (mechanical, electrical, and building engineering) design into 3D models.

These digital coordinated models are used by the construction team to fit the entire design schedule, as follows:

• 3D visualisation of 2D projects

• Elimination of design errors within and between departments during the virtual construction workflow

• Effective communication tool for the design and construction team

• The basis for efficient model quantifying

Bimfra team produces detailed MEP models in a BIM-compliant format, which can be part of a complex building model.

Clash detection

Clash detection helps to filter out both intra-industry collisions (typically in engineer models’ pipes) and inter-industry collisions.

Clash types are typically only detectable using 3D models and their early detection and handling enables huge savings in both time and money.

The clash detection test is useful for our customers for the following reasons:

• enables coordination of the building design through the model

• Shortens construction time and increases efficiency

• Eliminates possible design flaws between structural-architect and mechanical models

• Radically reduces and prevents site problems

• Visualises structural conflicts

• Significantly reduces construction costs - especially spare works

Our company prepares and coordinates the tasks between the parties involved to ensure clear effective communication, arranges, organises and and conducts necessary meetings to make sure all the participants are fully informed and familiar with the tasks and goals.

Our advanced BIM solutions are used to detect industry models’ collisions. The problems identified during clash detection are shared through various solutions with the industry's responsible modelling team.

Southend City Centre project

In the renovation project planned by the client, the task was to create a detailed 3D model of the utilities surveyed within the area to support the design.
